Inessa privacy policy

Inessa is an app for preparing and running live streams, for iPhone, iPad and Mac. This policy explains, plainly, what Inessa keeps, where it keeps it and what it does not do with it.

In short

Inessa has no server of its own. There is no Inessa backend for your material to travel to, and no account to create. Everything you save lives on your device and, if you have iCloud on, in your private CloudKit container — the same mechanism Apple uses to sync Notes or Reminders. Nobody at Inessa, and no third party, can see your material.

What Inessa keeps

Voice transcription

When you dictate an idea, transcription happens on the device itself, using Apple’s speech recognition. The audio is never sent to an Inessa server, because there isn’t one. It works with the device offline.

Pairing iPad and Mac

The control room and the studio find each other over Bonjour on your local network and connect over TCP with TLS, with the Mac’s certificate pinned on the iPad. Pairing is confirmed with a six-digit code and the keys are stored in the Keychain. That traffic never leaves your network: it doesn’t go through the internet or any intermediary.

Web outputs

When you turn on the web receiver to broadcast from a PC, Inessa serves on your local network at an address protected by a token. It exists only to paint what you air. None of it leaves your network or is logged anywhere off your device.

The Chrome extension

The extension saves what you ask it to by talking to the Mac app on 127.0.0.1 — that is, to your own computer. It pairs with a token and sends nothing anywhere else. If the Mac isn’t answering, what you saved queues up inside the extension until it is.

Third-party content

When you air a web page, a YouTube video or a Twitch clip, those services see the request as any browser would, under their own policies and with whatever cookies belong to the session you signed into. Inessa doesn’t send them anything about you on its own account.

Subscription

Inessa is an annual subscription with a full year’s trial. Apple handles the purchase: we never see or store your payment method. When the subscription expires the app becomes read-only — you can still open everything of yours — and your data is neither deleted nor touched.

Analytics and advertising

There is none. Inessa ships no analytics, advertising or tracking SDK. There are no user identifiers because there are no users to identify.

Your material, when you want to leave

Everything of yours is on your device and in your iCloud. Deleting the app and clearing the iCloud container from your account settings removes every trace: there is no copy on our side, because there never was one.

Children

Inessa is not aimed at children under 13, and it deliberately collects no data about anyone, at any age.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date above is updated and the change is explained. No silent edits.
